Finally! A hydration bladder that let's you separate water and your drink mix. Any gravel cyclist, Ironman athlete, or ultra runner can attest to how important a fresh sip of water can be throughout the day. We know that we need our carbs and electrolytes through a drink mix, but if we had the ability to dilute our mix later in the day, or even flip over to plain water every now and then, we absolutely would. The MXXY 1.5 Liter Hydration System does exactly this. There are two distinct bladders, and then a dial that allows you to drink the fluid from one bladder, the other, or both. The best part about this dual-bladder hydration system is that it fits it just about every hydration vest, even your ultra-light race day vests. If you're looking for a bigger bladder, they also make a 2.5 liter system that is more ideal for hiking or all day adventures.
If you already own a hydration vest, you can simply replace your bladder with one of the MXXY Flexx Hydration Systems. If you don't own one, you can snag the MXXY Velo Hydration Vest which includes the Flexx Hydration System. With the total capacity of the vest being certified insane, we found it to be lightweight enough for trail runs and gravel adventures, but still enough fluid for long hikes. While there are definitely more lightweight hydration vests out there, which would be more suitable for racing, we appreciated the amount of storage in this vest. We have definitely found it handy during long days in the mountains.

I really love this back pack, it is great for everything. Cycling, hiking, and running. It is super comfortable and perfect for that long day. The hydration bladder does not leak and is super ez to clean (it being dswasher safe is a HUGE plus). What is super special about this is that it has 2 separate bladders that you can fill one with your sodium and the other with your water and a nozzle that lets you switch between the two or combine both of them. The system comes with an additional mount for the dial so you can attach the dial and bladder it to whatever. The straps are super easy to adjust on the fly and the hose has a magnet that attaches to the bag so the hose doesn't flip around.
My only criticism is that the magnet that clips onto the back pack sometimes sticks too well and stays attached to the hose when drinking.

I’ve been using the MXXY hydration system for a few weeks now (I went with the 2.5L version), and honestly, it’s completely changed how I hydrate during long workouts. The dual-chamber design is brilliant. One side holds plain water, the other holds whatever mix I want, usually electrolytes, and the dial lets me choose how much of each I get on the fly. No more carrying two bottles or trying to switch between packs mid-run.
The dial itself is super easy to use, even when I’m biking or jogging. I was a little worried at first about how complicated it might be, but setup wasn’t bad at all once I got the hang of it. The reservoirs flip inside out for cleaning, and I can throw them on the top rack of the dishwasher. Huge bonus for someone like me who has a busy life between family and training.
The only thing I’d mention is that it takes up a bit more space than a regular bladder, so double-check the size of your pack. I had to upgrade mine to one with a bigger hydration sleeve.
